Keyboarding

We will be using a program installed on your computer called Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing to learn how to type without looking.  With practice, you will be able to type 20 average word per minute or more and put your name on Mt. Mavis.

When you are home or have freetime, you can practice correct fingering and learning the keys at these links --> CLICK HERE to practice.  For lessons, try Dance Mat Typing or eLearning.


Bookmarking in Firefox

  1. In the top menu, click Bookmarks
  2. From the top of the drop down menu, click Bookmark this page.
  3. In the Edit Bookmark box, if you need to, type in the name you want the bookmarked site to be listed as
  4. Select which folder to put the bookmark.  If you want to use that book mark frequently, put it in the Bookmarks Toolbar or if you will only visit that web site for a project or once in a while... put it in the Bookmark Menu.
  5. Click Done.

MISSION BOOKLET TEMPLATE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. California Mission Booklet Template: Click here for a copy.
  2. Click here to go to Google.com and sign In with your school email and password (Look for Sign in button in upper, right corner). 
  3. File > Make a Copy and rename it. Suggested Name: Copy of California Mission Booklet (for Your Name)  Example:  Copy of California Mission Booklet for Samantha
  4. Edit the document and replace anything in parentheses (including the parentheses) with the correct information.  
  5. Add graphics where specified.
  6. DO NOT FORGET TO SIGN OUT WHEN YOU ARE LEAVING THE COMPUTER.  Your work will be saved as you type it.
